"I've wanted to spend a season in the Himalayas for the last five years," says Eric Segalstad, a seasoned backcountry skier, traveler, and full-time freelance writer.

Eric has a graduate degree in journalism and lives in Boulder, Colorado, where he works closely with Skiing magazine as a frequent contributor. He has visited 35 countries on four continents, and wrote a personal essay about skiing in Iran for SKI magazine in 2005.
